What Is The Bita

BITTA by Campeggi and Denis Santachiara is a multifunctional pouf that transforms into a comfortable single bed. Designed in 2019, its shape is inspired by nautical mooring bollards, reflecting a maritime aesthetic. The pouf conceals an inflatable PVC mattress with an electrically powered inflating/deflating system, providing a convenient sleeping solution for guests.

Interviews with therapists and patients identified opportunities to integrate IoT and VR technology.

Redesign

Working with Campeggi, I led the redesign around three additions.

Prototype & test

Prototyping and testing validated the concept.

VR compatibility

For immersive therapy.

Dual-use structure

A modified physical structure with a wooden base, so it doubles as a table.
